We have the following dates available in December 2008 to hold a Christmas Party here with us:

The cost of the meal is £30 per person and the special rate for Bed and Breakfast is also £30 per person

Christmas at Merewood is everything you ever wanted Christmas to be; its the Christmas you thought was extinct.

Spend your Christmas at Merewood and the house will be a home from home where you can let go and enjoy Christmas as it should be enjoyed.

Merewood is always special, but at Christmas it comes into its own - the grand hall and every room resplendent with trees and garlands and every fire blazing.

It goes without saying that the food and wine are perfect and the delivery of mince pies or afternoon tea perfectly timed.

If you are lucky, there will be snow on the fells and you will be able to appease your conscience with a walk up Wansfell after lunch. A full programme of events, games and entertainments is always provided but you can easily escape from it if you prefer.

Father Christmas has, in previous years, always called in to deliver presents on Christmas day and may well do again.

WEDNESDAY 24th DECEMBER 2008 - CHRISTMAS EVE
3.30pm	WELCOME CREAM TEA Gather by the log fire and enjoy scrumptious homemade scones and local preserves accompanied by a perfect cup of tea.
7.30pm	MULLED WINE Start the evening off with our special mulled wine and canapés.
8.00pm	GOURMET DINNER Four course candle lit meal served in the Green Room
10.00pm	RELAX & ENJOY THE LOG FIRES And perhaps one of our fine brandies or malts
Midnight	BAR CLOSES Time to retire for the night, hang up the stockings and await the arrival of the man in red.
	The cost for Christmas Eve is £165 per person

THURSDAY 25th DECEMBER 2008 - CHRISTMAS DAY
9.00am	BREAKFAST & BUCKS FIZZ IN BED A chance to relax, and open your presents at a leisurely pace.
12.00 - 1.00pm	CHAMPAGNE RECEPTION Gather in the bar for champagne in preparation for the grand feast that will follow.
1.00pm	THE GRAND FEAST Time to pull the crackers, don your party hats and indulge in turkey with all the trimmings.
3.00pm	THE QUEEN’S SPEECH A chance to sit in front of the TV to hear her Majesty’s annual address to the nation, or to doze off and have an afternoon nap.
7.30pm	BUFFET DINNER Help yourself to as much as you can manage from our chef’s buffet (if you can find some room after lunch).
9.00pm	HOUSE GAMES Relax after dinner with our brain teasers quiz, or why not challenge your fellow guests and be king of the board at a game of Monopoly or Scrabble.
	The cost for Christmas Day is £195 per person

FRIDAY 26th DECEMBER 2008 - BOXING DAY
9.00am	BREAKFAST Start the day with elegance and style, and enjoy the full breakfast with all the trimmings.
10.30am	A WALK ACROSS THE LAKELAND FELLS For those feeling energetic, there will be an un-organised walk in the Lakeland scenery. Alternatively visit the shops in the town or simply relax.
1.00pm	A WELCOME BITE TO EAT After your fell walking adventure, or filling your shopping bags, return to the hotel for a light lunch.
7.30pm	CANDLE-LIT DINNER Enjoy your last night, and unwind over a delicious candle-lit 4-course dinner.
	The cost for Boxing Day is £165 per person

SATURDAY 27th DECEMBER 2008
9.00 - 10.00am	BREAKFAST A hearty start to your day, in preparation for your voyage home.
11 am	Time to bid farewell to each other, and hope to meet again soon.

The total cost for the whole Christmas package 2008 is: £525.00 PER PERSON
