Terms and booking

Merewood is able to offer Civil Wedding Ceremonies from 60 guests to 120 guests.

The charge for holding the civil ceremony at our hotel will be £500.00 throughout 2008.
When you have booked our hotels (confirmed with a deposit) you can book the registrar one year prior to the wedding day.

You will have to give notice of your marriage to the superintendent registrar of the district you live.
Further details of this and other details related to the ceremony will be available upon application to the registrar.

Terms and conditions

1. Written confirmation is required at the time of the booking with a £1,000 deposit. In the event of cancellation the deposit is non-refundable.

2. All arrangements to be finalised 21 days prior to the wedding date.

3. We are unable to cater for less than the confirmed number of guests.

4. Children under 9 years are charged half price.

5. The balance of the account is to be settled one calendar month after the Wedding Day.

Booking Costs from 2009

There is a £1,000 charge for a civil ceremony and £500 charge for a wedding reception at Cragwood and Merewood. Briery Wood charge £500 for a civil ceremony and £250 for a wedding reception.

Bedrooms are available from 2.00pm. Bedroom departure is 11.00am.

For guests who have departed and have smoked in their bedroom a charge of £50 per room will be added to the weding bill for you to retrieve from your naughty guests.

Briery Wood - Sit Down Reception in two adjoining rooms - 112 Guests
Cragwood - Sit Down Reception in two adjoining rooms - 78 Guests
Merewood - In the Lonsdale Suite on round tables - 120 Guests

Accommodation Discounted for Wedding Guests

One night stay - £5.00 per person off the Bed and Breakfast tariff charge.

Two night stay - £10.00 per person per night off the Bed and Breakfast tariff charge.

Children sharing with their parents will be charged at £30 bed and breakfast (age 2 - 12 years). Cots required for children up to two years old will not be charged for.

If rooms are requested and not filled they will be charged for.
